Italian Firmware Guide & Drivers

READ THROUGH FIRST BEFORE ATTEMPTING AT LEAST THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHAT THE NEXT STAGE IS

ALSO With VISTA  and 7 you will run into Problems only use this guide with Windows XP well until i get fix for vista user

You Might Need WinRaR to extract some of these files if so click here

1, Back up Your Phone and Un-tick User files from phone memory

2, Download italian firmware and drivers from here http://www.brettsnet.com/Drivers.rarand here http://www.brettsnet.com/I8910_XXIF7_It ... rlands.rar ive checked these files and are virus free as is the website (it is mine afterall) if want orange firmware incase its http://www.brettsnet.com/I8910_Orange_UK.rar

3, Ok so you downloaded everthing ? Great now Extract all the downloaded files making it easier to access And make sure pc studio is closed (right click on icon in task bar next to your clock and click exit)

4, now open the folder called DRIVERS and in there find a folder called PHONE_driver now run the setup.exe file.

5, Done that ? ok lets move on now in the DRIVERS folder go to PDA_driver folder open that. find the file called IBootHostUSB.inf now right click and select install

6, dont worry where getting there now again in Drivers Folder open SAMSUNG mobile usb in there run the Setup.exe file at the end tick I WILL RESTART MY COMPUTER LATER

7, ok Again in the Drivers folder run SSDN_V1.1.808.7165_SETUP_whql.exe IF YOU GET AN ERROR MESSAGE DO NOT WORRY JUST CLICK OK and we will move on

8, ok getting closer now in the DRIVERS folder again run Symbian ROM Flashing Tool v1.50.exe
DO NOT RUN Symbian ROM Flashing Tool v1.51.exe it wont work only use the version 1.50

9, now the programme is running click on CODE XML FILE button. (you will need to locate the folder you downloaded from me I8910_XXIF7_Italy_Germany_Netherlands) and in that folder is another called PDA_Code_I8910XXIF7 open that and select CODE_I8910XXIF7.xml

10, next one down is CSC XML File this will be located in the same place but in a folder called PDA_CSC_I8910ITVIE5 now select the file called CSC_I8910ITVIE5.xml

11, (please wipe your brow your sweating) Now the next one is MODEM BIN same thing again locate the folder called I8910XXIE9 and select I8910XXIE9.bin

12, Now you should have selected 3 files do not worry about the last one its not required. below where you have selected the 3 files it will say COUNTRY ITALY, Operator ITV, CODE VERSION I8910XXIF7 CSC VER. I8910ITVIE5 now in the boxes there should be a tick in FORMAT and one in BOOT now further down there should be a tick in CODE, CSC, and MODEM you should not have ticks anywhere else other than where i said

13, now get your I8910 and turn it OFF now when you turn it on you MUST hold down the volume up key and the LOCK key together whilst holding down the on key thats right 3 buttons pressed down at the same time whilst the phone is turning on now the screen will show up blue with some text boot loader etc (you can release the keys now)

14, (getting scarey now) now connect your phone to your pc using the usb lead now give it a second for your pc to reconise the connected device

15, go back to the programme we left on screen and it should now say READY and your DOWNLOAD START button is also highlighted.

16 this is it now click the DOWNLOAD START button and just watch as everything is transfered DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR USB OR TURN OF YOUR PC it will damage your phone. the process will take around 4 to 5 minutes but feels like forever

17, When the phone restarts disconnect the usb lead and let the phone start normaly

18, WAIT WHATS THIS yer its in italian ok first thing it asks you is your country so for england search for REGNO UNITO (united Kingdom) now select region i just choose london, enter the date and time if you want now wait for the phone to start be patiant please now when its all done tap MENU now tap IMPOSTAZ (Settings) now TELEFONO (phone) now LINGUA (language) now Tap LINGUA DEL TELEFONO (telephone language) now DOUBLE TAP English when message display tap SI (yes) now wait the phone will restart (i said wait)

19, ok almost finished now you want to get the latest update no problem Close all the programmes we where using and now open pc suite now hook the phone up using usb lead and in pc suite choose the phone software updater and run that follow the on screen instructions and wait

20, thats it you can check your phone out and try the new things installed also you may notice your contacts, pictures, music and orange maps have not been affected if they have run the back up wizard and restore these (dont think you will need too)
